GREG KRISTIANSON MAKES HIS DEBUT WITH DISPOSABLE HEROES

Disposable Heroes rolled into Red Deer for the third time in '05, and for the third time the show was sold out well in advance. If you were one of the lucky ones to get a hold of tickets for this show then you were treated to one very special night. Greg Kristianson made his debut with the band on bass and wowed the crowd with an amazing performance. This guy can play, and definitely did "Justice" to the three bass icons of Metallica.

The band played an amazing, pummeling set from start to finish. The guys seemed to have a bit extra in the tank on this one and played a full throttle, two and a half hour show that will not soon be forgotten. To make the night even better, a bunch of songs were added to the set that had not been played in a while: Hit the Lights, King Nothing, and No Remorse.

Be sure to check out the TOUR and MEDIA sections of the site for more pics and vids from this one.

Next up, Calgary Ab, Dec 10, The Shamrock.

B.C. SHOWS POSTPONED

We regret to announce that the upcoming Disposable Heroes tour of B.C. has been postponed. Ryan's girlfriend was involved in a very bad car accident in which she sustained serious injuries. Obviously Ryan will be diverting his attention away from the band and be devoting his energy to ensuring the full recovery of his girlfriend.

Disposable Heroes will be touring the B.C. area in the coming months. Thank you all for your understanding and we hope to see you out there soon.

VH1 Airs Both “When Metallica Ruled The World” at 9:00 PM* Followed By The Cable Commercial-free Premiere Of “Metallica: Some Kind of Monster” at 10:00 PM*

NEW YORK, March 29, 2005 – Even people who don’t know heavy metal know Metallica. Always controversial, always outspoken, always uncompromising; Metallica rose from obscurity to take over the world of heavy metal and become the 7th biggest selling musical act in American history.

VH1 has produced the ultimate no holds barred oral history of Metallica: “When Metallica Ruled The World.” This hour-long documentary, airing Saturday, April 9 at 9:00 PM* will take you through the band’s tumultuous 24 year history, told through exclusive interviews with band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo- Bassist as well as Metallica’s former bassist, Jason Newsted to give fans and viewers the real story behind the band’s ups and downs.  The episode will discuss  everything from James Hetfield’s battle with alcohol, to Jason Newsted’s resignation and the bands subsequent journey into therapy.

Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster,” premiering commercial-free, Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 PM* provides an in-depth portrait of one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time, as they faced monumental personal and professional challenges while recording their first studio album of original songs in five years. What began as the documenting of the making of an album became an unexpected voyage into the complexities of human relationships, and the power of the creative process to exact emotional tolls and ultimately, to heal the soul. Three years in the making, this new film from acclaimed documentary filmmakers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky (the team that created “Brother’s Keeper” and “Paradise Lost,”) follows the band’s trough the reinvention of their creative process, as well as their struggle to balance their personal lives with the demands of sustaining the multi-million dollar business they’ve spent twenty years building.

This was definitely a very cool show and if you were one of the lucky ones that were able to get their hands on a ticket (the show sold out well in advance) then you left with a great big smile on your face. The boys were in top form on this evening and played a TON.

Being that it was St.Patricks day, you know the boys had to be throwing Whiskey In The Jar into the set. Once again, the crowd in Red Deer Ab got a treat when Hanger 18 was blasted their way.

The crowd for this one was great. Look for DH to be rolling back into the central Alberta region in the not too distant future. As always, keep checking the Tour section for the latest DH tour dates.

DH PLAYS LIVE IN CALGARY AT MORGANS

Well, the DH boys played their first show of '05 at the very popular Morgan's nightclub in Calgary Ab. last night. The guys mixed up the set with a lot of old and new tunes and the crowd was more than appreciative. Lots of old school Met fans in the crowd so songs like Phantom Lord and Hit the Lights were big hits.

Those on hand were definitely treated to a very RARE occurrence when the guys dropped a surprise song into the set... Hanger 18?!?!?!? No, not a Met song, but it is a song written by a former 'Tallica member so it's all good. The crowd seemed to get a kick out of hearing it too.

Things will definitely be busy in the DH camp this year and this was great way to start.
